With a design inspired by the wonderful Modernist bayside houses of the 50’s and 60’s this dual occupancy project is located on the edge of a green wedge in Sandringham.

Both houses are north facing with the rear house upstairs living spaces punctuated by a butterfly roof. The study projects out to the reserve like a watchtower and its zinc cladding provides a counterpoint to the Spotted Gum cladding and predominately white exterior walls. The flecks of translucent corrugated give a filtered green light to the interiors. Nautical wire balustrades and floating internal stairs continue the bayside spirit.

A retrospective look into the future…
